Soy Marinated Flank Steak

For faster preparation, marinate the steak the night before or that morning and refrigerate until ready to cook. Leftovers can be served with a salad the next day.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce reduced sodium
  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs flank steak

Instructions

  • In a large re-sealable plastic bag, combine all of the ingredients, except the steak. Mix the ingredients well.
  • With the tines of a fork, poke holes in the steak. Add steak to the bag and mix well. Put in refrigerator to marinate overnight or all day.
  • Remove steak from marinade and pat dry with paper towels. Cook meat, using either a broiler or a grill, for 5-8 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
  • Put steak on cutting board and allow it to rest for at least 5 minutes. Cut the steak against the grain, on an angle, in thin slices.
