  • 2 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 tsp dried rubbed sage
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp fat-free milk
  • Cooking spray

Optional Ingredients

  • lettuce leaves
  • sliced tomato
  • whole wheat hamburger buns
  • sliced red onion

  • In a large bowl, combine the turkey, sage, coriander, pepper, salt, sugar, nutmeg, ginger, and milk. Mix well.
  • Divide and shape the mixture into 8 ½-inch thick patties.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Spray the skillet with cooking spray.
  • Cook patties on each side for 4 minutes or until each side is done.

Chef’s Note: You can serve this like a burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce, red onion and tomato or just by itself.
Make Ahead: This recipe is quick and easy to prepare. While you are cooking other meals, you can mix together the meat, form them into patties and then store in the refrigerator for a day or freeze them for another time. Then cook them in a skillet when you are ready.
