Sautéed Broccoli, Tomatoes and Bacon
Steamed broccoli can get boring after a while but by adding bacon and tomatoes to this dish, it comes alive with different flavors, and it may just be more enticing to your family!
Ingredients
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 head broccoli cut into florets (about 6 cups)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Transfer to a plate and crumble when cool enough to handle.
- Drain off about half of the bacon grease. Over medium heat, add the broccoli to the pan and cook, stirring often, for about 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes or until broccoli is soft, stirring as needed. Season with pepper, sprinkle with crumbled bacon and serve.
Notes
Chef’s Note: If you’d like to “lighten” up this dish, you could cut the bacon amount in half to save on calories and fat.
