Summer Sangria
Sangria is the perfect summer drink! Start with chilled red wine and chilled fruit so you can use less ice in your glass for a refreshing, festive drink.
  • 3 limes
  • 1/4cup sugar
  • 1 applechopped
  • 1 orangechopped
  • 1cup strawberrieschopped
  • 1cup raspberries
  • 1 bottle red wine(choose a fruitier one such as chianti, zinfandel, merlot, cabernet or shiraz)
  1. Juice the limes and add the juice to a large pitcher. Add the sugar and stir until it dissolves in the lime juice.
  2. Add the chopped fruit. Pour in the wine and stir well. Adjust taste with more lime juice and sugar as needed.
  3. Pour sangria over ice and enjoy!
Recipe Notes

Chef’s Note: Chill the red wine and the fruit first so the sangria is already chilled and won’t melt the ice as fast.

Mix It Up: Use any fresh fruit that is in season or that you have available.

Kid-Friendly: Make a non-alcoholic version for your kids. Skip the sugar and add lime juice to 100% grape juice with all of the chopped fruit. Top off with lime-flavored seltzer water if you want to give it a refreshing sparkle.
